I have a fender vintage tremolo screw that broke below the surface in my ash body guitar. Already tried the screw extractor from Sears. The smallest one they made was not small enough. Any suggestions. I'm talking about the six screws that hold that bridge on the guitar body, that the bridge pivotson.
Thanks!
Jimi

Your only recourse might be to carefully drill out the core of the screw, increasing the drill size in those small increments until what's left can be more or less 'dug' out of there as a non-cohesive screw 'shell.'

I would agree and suggest that a drill press is used for such an application.

Re: Tremolo screw broke in wood
The only success I had with a similar prob was to take a Dremel with an arrow head engraving bit, patiently making a slot to accept a (small) flathead screw driver.
It will be hard to turn so use a small vice grip pliers to hold the screw driver firmly to carefully extract the broken screw out...
