I'm putting a board in a 76' 1987, and was thinking about reducing the filtering a bit while I'm at it.
Any thoughts on leaving the dual 50 cap for the mains, and then swapping in dual 32's for the screens and preamp? I just happen to have two of them on hand.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Just done it on my new clone (actually used a single 100 on the mains) with two 32/32 cans (I have easy access to LCR 32/32s).
Hard to say why but the amp is really very good , warm and musical, 'feels good' too, warmer at low volumes than my other two 1987s, but this maybe because of the smaller bright cap and 250/56 tone stack I also have 47k NFB on the speaker jacks and my cabs are all 16ohm.
So it seems to work well in my amp so far, I haven't gigged it yet as I will give it a few hours at home and then try a rehearsal or two.
In fact I am not sure how much real difference there is between 32s and 50s in the preamp. 16s I am sure will be different.
I am intrigued to know how you get on.
