MSG "Live" 50 watt in action
I found this video and thought it had a pretty cool Schenker solo in it. Check it out.

Whenever I think ufo, I think of this song.
Likely because it was the first ufo song I heard.

This was the second or third solo I learned after picking up the guitar, It took forever.

Recently some of you here have hipped me to the brilliance of early UFO,I owned the MSG album Built to Destroy and quite liked it !
I of course heard of UFO and particularly the later band with Neil Carter, knowing him with Gary Moore's band and I met in Philly Ron,the American guitarist, who was briefly in UFO.
Schenker is a monster player and his rhythm work is exceptional and his leads are very thematic and well constructed, with first rate dynamics!
Let's dig up more UFO boys!!
I remember being in England and every band equipment description always listed MS as being 'strictly 50 watt Marshall' as Yngwie would say!!

Although, he did say he used some 100 watt heads in addition to the 50 watters in the studio for Perfect Timing. Some of his best studio tones, IMO.yngwie308 wrote: I remember being in England and every band equipment description always listed MS as being 'strictly 50 watt Marshall' as Yngwie would say!!

Those older metal faced "small logo" 50 watters he used up till the '78 tour had a little more headroom than the jmp glider switch 4 holers. The older ones had more voltage on plates of the output tubes. Schenker's best "Rock Bottom" solo,to me, is on "Strangers In The Night". Overall, Schenker is probably one of the best.
