Most people would go for the Sozos.

What kind of sound? For an aggressive sound, I wouldn't go with Sozos. They're warm, smooth, good for that Free Paul Kossoff tone, but if you're going for the VH sound, they are not defined, kind of muddy, inarticulate.

I always use mustards myself - but that was not the question.........

As for the suggestion that mustard type caps are no good for EVH style, what was in Eddie's amp?

Besides which, Mallories are a whole lot smoother (and frankly have less good stuff going on) than Sozo's in Marshall builds. By a LONG margin.
Mallories are very nice for hi-fi components though, I have found.
