Purple Plexi 1987/2204 (Thanks SDM & Neikeel!)

Originally built this per Metro Specs, and after playing it several times, I only used the bright channel, without jumpering the normal channel in. Sounded perfect to me that way. So since I wasn't using the normal channel, I decided to install SDM/Neikeel's 2 in 1 mod and make it a 1987/2204 setup. I followed SDM's layout, except I used a separate pot and DPDT switch. I don't like the currently available push pull pots, and I wasn't going to use the low jack anyway. Amp has Mercury PT and 3H choke, and Marstran 784-139 OT. Sozo standard caps, AB CC's in the prescribed locations, and F&T 50/50's and 33/33. No bright cap on the bright channel pot. Other than that, straight '68 specs per Georges instructions
After hesitating to do the 2 in 1 mod, I'm really happy I took the plunge. It made the amp much more versatile, and it didn't screw with the thing I fell in love with: The bright channel cranked up. Something about how the harmonics and grit just come out of this amp is amazing. I use this at church (large church/ cabs off stage) and my FOH guy loves it to the point, that he told me to leave the Matchless at home. This is my first build and I'm amazed at how the Plexi circuit responds to what you feed it. Wonderful amp!
