Excellent clips! Your overdrive is really smooth and clean ! Not harsh at all . Real nice ! What are you driving in the front? The 1 clip said dod . What about the others?

y308, Was that your review on harmony central on the dod250 ? So you started out with the yjm then had mike mod it to an original 250 spec ? Personally i like the ts9 better right now because my 308 sounds too harsh with a shrilly high end . I feel pretty certain that the new dod from mike should be right on the money . Does the dod have more or less drive than the 250 or is it about the same , a lot of people claim that it has more bass ?

i think you'll like the mojo 250? (741) alot better than the stock 308. mine sure had that shrill high end, or at least a lack of bottom/mids to match. much improved.

Yes I reviewed the mods of my YJM 308 pedal to grey DOD250 specs with the 741 mod, true bypass and led indicator!Mike modded my DD-6 Boss as well to excellent effect, and when the new Dunlop JImi hendrix FuzzFace comes out I will have him mod it to SunFace specs. As I always say,Analog Mike is the greatest, just like George!
Glad you read my posts, yngwie 2,can you play Adagio, the slow part?
I'd like to hear that clip :D :D :D !!!
You will like Mike's mod and I use a Boss NS-2 pedal with it,but it almost dosen't need it as it sounds pretty quiet by itself!

Cool can"t wait . I paid an extra 20 bucks for overnight delivery ! lol
I dont know that tune , I like malmsteens older sound. My favorite is everything before and including trilogy especially , to me i feel that he spent a lot more time in his solo work , nowadays his tone is different , too distorted and its just too much shredding, His earlier days his phrasing was much better in my oppinion, I still listen to the newer stuff but everything sounds too repeatitive and rushed. Sorry i"m stuck in the 80"s . lol .

Yes I agree with you although I think I like albums after Trilogy up to Magnum Opus and The Concerto of course.I am living my whole life in the eighties, believe me!!!
That was a huge focused time for the music we all love.
Sometimes Yngwie even parodies himself these days, but he sure can play as well as ever!
He really is the nicest guy to meet and I am glad I met him and Tom Keifer, two of my guitar heroes.
You will love the new pedal
Here is Adagio, one of my favorite ever Malmsteen tunes:

This song is how I judge how well Yngwie is playing in a show, the feeling he puts into the phrasing is a mirror of his emotional playing!

What album was "I am a Viking" off of? That was a good album. I used to have a copy of it back in the "ancient 80s"!!

I like Malmsteen, he does what he does quite well. Sounds weird coming from a James Gang/Skynyrd guy, but I have always like good honest playing.

jfhudak,I love James Gang and Skynard too,so any great guitar playing I can appreciate,I don't want people to think I am Malmsteen obsessed    ,or anything.I have over 200 LP's of my music from sixties, seventies, that I am hoping to listen to again!
I even liked Captain Beefheart Trout Mask Replica,I have, plus one other,so I like all kinds of players, believe me.
I am glad that Malmsteen gets some kudos here,as i really think he is greatly under appreciated, believe it or not.
He is too often characterized as the arrogant eighties neo-classical shredder, who had his place in history.
But he still is a viable artist, every artist has their glory years, and Yngwie's still able to technically and emotionally play as well as earlier,I would like to say with more maturity, but Yngwie has a tendency to throw in lots of extra notes, cause he can!
This turns a lot of people off, especially to his blues playing.
I think all forms of music are interconnected and Yngwie is especially connected to many forms of guitar playing.
I like Metro forum cause there are so many great ears here, besides being players and amp builders!

I apologize for ragging on his blues a long time ago. Yngwie is an amazing guitarist. I went through a big Yngwie phase in the 80s.

I still have the VCR tape of him. 8)

I believe in anything Mike Pierra puts together. I have 5 of his pedals/mods and another on a waiting list. I have nothing but great things to say about every one of them.
You can't go wrong with any of them. Seriously.
