Metroamp is eternally indebted to Flames1950 for revamping the 100 watt kit instruction.....from scratch!

Thanks Andy for doing what I should have done 2 years ago.

Take a look and let us know what you all think:

Hmmm Andy, sounds like the 45/100 is next, eh?

Remember... do a job once well and they ask you to do it again.
Do it again well and you OWN IT FOR LIFE!! :D

Looks very comprehensive, nice work Flames.

Suppose the proof will be if/when someone gets stuck half way through

excellent job! my only critique is the shot of the three preamp tubes is a little too dark.

Beautiful work!!!

Really liked the side by side comparison of Lead and Bass throughout the instructions.

That's the whole story of shooting pics in my little corner of a workshop -- my choice of the four-tube overhead light glaring at me or too dark........

Great job Flames! The only thing I saw that might add to an already comprehensive piece of work would be instructions for wiring the voltage selector for Euro taps.

I did mention Euro wiring in there briefly, with wire colors and a little about wiring the 120V light.......George was supposed to add a diagram, is the diagram missing?

Yes seen the 120v lamp instructions but briefly looking I didn't see step by step instructions for wiring primaries to a voltage selector switch. However, if the terminals are marked on the PT i.e. 120/220/240 etc., it's kinda self explainitory and is basically shown on the wire diagram for the PT itself.

In retrospect, it would have been handy if I'd mocked up the international wiring, like I did with the Lead vs. Bass pictures later in the instructions. There were a number of things like that, that developed along the way to finishing, and I'd wished I'd thought of them earlier when I could have gotten even more pictures.
The whole thing was an interesting learning experience -- I've never had to detail every little thing like that, and then finding a way to present it that doesn't fly over the head of a newer builder was always tough. In person my patience for such things is terrible -- I'd never cut it as a guitar instructor or classroom teacher. Writing things at least gives you time to ponder things through and keep finding a little better way of presenting the material!!

Hands down one heck of a job, lots of attention to detail for sure!

Id never have the patience for something like taht. Id start it gung ho, sure. But after a certain amount of hours Id find any excuse to not be working on it.

What about an instructional video Flames, that would probably be a first?

I never got around to making the voltage diagrams, sorry. I didn't want to wait any longer to get these out there. I'll put that on the list.

I also used your instructions as motivation to revamp the whole Metro CD. The old one is so cluttered it's not even funny. Not to mention stuff in there is out-dated or just plain wrong!

The new CD has everything organized, updated and uses all .pdf files. Except for product parts lists, which are Excel spreadsheets.

Thanks again Flames, awesome job!

That's a hell of a way to get me to go for a fitty watt kit, George!
