There is no secret sauce, just a lot of misinformation, Frank Levi did rip TC 39 mod out of the amp & put his MK V mod into it. The TC 39 & the mod Frank Levi put into the 39 amp had nothing in common with each other, totally different mods. Also the 34 has nothing in common with the real 36 mod, again different mods. Sure TC has been trying to get the real 36 too, and has had no success either lol. One more thing the real 36 mod is a highgain 80s mod, Listen to all the old Dokken & Doug Aldrich Lion tracks, The 36 sounds just like this tone.rockgod212 wrote:sounds great duke, now what's the secret sauce? tease tease tease...............![]()

Here's without a bypass cap on the 2nd stage cathode and the snubbers increased on the 2nd and 3rd stage plates. Recorded at about 4 on the PPIMV.

Sounds okay, Needs more note separation and highs IMO. Try .15 or .22uF on that stage. Which NFB value did you end up with? Try 56k to 68k @ 4r. You might also like 1nF instead of 2.2nF across the 470k, to balance with the extra low end.
