Here is the clip I made of my 69 before the tube went out, It doesnt really capture the thickness of this amp...

The '69 clip sounds kinda similar to the GoldenWest VH boot tone in that it's rather crunchy and compressed. BTW, what speakers where used on the '68 50w clip and '69 clip?

Yes greenbacks 25 watters 103 003 as in most of my cabs. However they do differ from bright to dark sounding. They are the final filter in a setup and I use them as EQ.

same cab in both clips were micd 1968 slanted cab (the one in the cupboard.) Rather dark sounding.

Is that a 220k (red, red, yellow) or 22k (red, red, orange) resistor on the left the bias resistor?

What's that thing on top of the 10uf cap?

What are each of the amps, top to bottom? Are they all as pristine as the 50 watter?

Very nice collection. Well done!! Now, where do you live so we can visit?

You mean the sliding bias adjustor. This is a Swedish import model. Before they could be sold a Swedish government called SEMKO added a few safety things to the amps an extra fuse for instans and this bias adjustor. Notice the different red dye used to mark it, not the same as the Marshall factory dye.

The amps are 100 watters JTM blackflag super bass on top 1968 super PA 1969 super bass (was lead stickered) 1968 super lead

I have ten 100 watter eight 50watters, one 200 watter four JCM 800 six 1 watters and some others yjm afd. i had 30 basketweaves but have sold some to make room

I've seen those bias slider adjusters in many vintage amps here on the Scandinavian area. Pretty cool, I guess you can't get those anywhere anymore?

The white and blue sticker with an "s" on the back indicates that it has been SEMKO modded and cleared to be sold in Sweden (perhaps Scandinavia?)

The Super Bass 1969 had a lead sticker on it years ago I remember, and it is more of a super lead circuitry. I used to belong to som guys that had a backline rental company that I knew very well. This particular amp is a very special amp for me and the amp that got me into plexis and marshalls. It is by no means "kosher" in any way its been modded since the 80´s when a mod actually increased the value on an amp. I call it a 69 but I really don´t know what the heck it is, perhaps it is a two or three amps made into one or it is made late 69 when Marshall cleared old parts because its a mixture of things.

I tried to buy it for more than 15 years, it was eventually more or less given to me before the company was bought up.

I know it had a master when I first tried it and it has more gain than my other 100 watters more like the 50 you heard. I my experience 50 watters have more gain not just earlier breakup.

Why I mostly think its odd is that I It has metalplanel board material not the perforated kind, I almost bought I plexified 1970 marshall this spring with that material. It turned out to have past through MG. I hadn´t reflected about this before that. if this one is a plexified marshall with open choke its done long before there were much money in it. I just call it a 69 for my own reference...

That dark brown stuff that is solid and scuffs up on the corners is typically '70 although I guess late 69 would do but definitely normally metal panel era.

This 69 sounded killer as well but I prefer the spongier sound of the 50w. You know, that A chord thing. The 68 gets it perfectly! :vh:

My 11000 series 50 sounds bright and gets there fast just like that amp. I love that. Doesn't clean up at all. -rip- :champ:
