They sound very similar. I hear you throwing your little twists to the playing

Nice comparison clips there. I think the 3 stage version sounds looser and could do with some compression. I guess the added stage isn't there to round off the other side of the wave form. Maybe some diodes or LED's could be used instead, or some different ones if you're already using them.

Cheers BRMSlash, thanks for your feedback :)

I had the MV at 2 so that's maybe why the amp sounds a bit loose, i haven't used any diodes in this mod, i always find that they give a bit of a buzz tone.

Here are some clips of my #36 recorded with Shure Sm57 at bedroom volume. I tried two different couplers and two different bypasses on stage 4. I accidentally deleted one clip.

0.0022uF coupler, 4th stage bypass 2.2uf http://1drv.ms/1DnwioQ

0.0022uF coupler, 4th stage bypass 470nF http://1drv.ms/1Dnwy7e

0.022uF coupler, 4th stage bypass 2.2uf http://1drv.ms/1DnwtjT

I really suck at recording guitars. I used Kjaerhus Classic Reverb Plugin (80's snare preset) on Sweet Child O' mine.

Here are some pics of my recording setup:

nice, I have an old 60watt ampeg that I kept the tranny's, no choke. I used a 270ohm resistor I believe. it has 5881's in it, it sounds killer for a modded 3 stager. I run it through 2 black shadows and 2 cheapo celestion 50watt rocket's in a vs412 cab, sounds killer with this cab only, its not quite there with any other cab, go figure, but its a killer practice amp for home use.
