Hi Roe
Thanks to share your taste. Are you saying
V1a ,2k7/.68u plate, 320k anode?
V1b, v2a, 2k7/.68u plate, 100k anode?

Nice job, really nice layout. What are you using to cover the diode?
And a 4100?

Stephan
Thanks, I'm using PVC standoffs. I just shrink tubed them so they fit snug inside the standoff, added a little glue to keep the housing in place and then shrink tubed the outside.

Marshall JCM-900 4100 head.

When the board is in, I'm going to try out different value components until I find the recipe I like best.

I've got a point to point 4 gain stage no CF build and it sounded excellent with a 2.7k 1uF on V1A, 2.7k .68uF on V1B, a 2.7k 1uF on V2A and just a 1k on V2B. V1A's plate resistor was rotary switchable from 100k, 220k and 330k, the rest were 100k. Really fun amp to play! Now I might add a switch in there to get some zener clipping before the MV and see what it will sound like on a 4 gain stager.

I actually complimented Nik at Ceriatone on his zener housing and he replied back with: "Zeners? What zeners? Those are wax capacitors with horse hair winding, from 1920s!"

The way he typed it made me visualize Bruce Lee saying it with a funny accent.

Excellent Idea to try your 4 gain no CF on it. Please come back and comment on your finding. I also make a trial on my side.
Question, are planning to use the Jose MV or the regular 2203 MV type with Zener?
Also is the PVC/shrink around the zener is helping on something?

I'm going to use a 10k + .33uF cap from the plate of the 4th stage to a pre-tonestack master and then 18v+20v Zeners coming from the input lug of the MV to ground.

Nope, just hides the diodes and makes them look like shrink tubed capacitors, purely cosmetic.

yes, but add a 2n2 cap and a 68k/68k voltage divider after v1a before entering v1b. also add a snubber over v1a's anode resistor

Anyone have any ideas on the preamp differences between the Chupacabra and the Yeti?
