So hoping all the amp gurus can assist here

I know I've heard many accounts that the new jubilee 2555x are exactly the same as the originals.
However I hear a difference in every video I've seen and from asking people who have had both.

What gives?

Is it the new layout of the board , different transformers?
Or just different tubes?

Components and transformers are always different when dealing with re-issues. Marshall has admitted to some minor changes. Every comparison I’ve seen / heard has been unnoticeable to my ears.

I built a modified version that has 2 independent preamps….but I’ve never played an original or Marshall jubilee. I like the amp and use it often…very practical.

I was also looking at the Ceriatone version.
Are there any differences in that to the originals ?
Circuit wise ?
I always feel more comfy buying something that is turret board.

Just don't know how accurate Ceriatones layout is to the the Marshall

I servied both a few years back. the original had higher voltages than the reissue and it sounded somewhat different (better). PArt of the explanation lies in the different components (notably LCR caps)

They had diff voltages??
I'm surprised Marshall didn't keep that the same as it would really make a difference.

Are you talking only about the filter caps or coupling as well ?

LCR's were the big, blue filter caps on top of the amp chassis during a lot of the JCM800 era.

You guys think that getting the Ceriatone 2555 would be better than the marshalls reissue 2555x?

I don't know. Voltages above 465v is risky because of the 500v filter caps.
