1983 Jcm800 2203- Want To Buy, But Is It Over Modded?

It's a CSA 1983 JCM800 2203. The mods include;

1 - Effects loop
2 - Push/pull volume for extra gain
3 - 4th tube installed (not sure if for the gain or fx loop)

Here are some pics. Are these mods common and done well? Maybe more importantly, reversible?

That white stuff is supposedly silicone to keep heavier parts in place - is that common practice??

Thanks for your help in advance!

Well if you can pull the goo off the board that part is reversible. But it had a tube added, so there's at least one extra hole in the chassis. That silicone crap is used by hack modders to "hide" what value components they use in their mods.

I almost sent my JCM 800 to Voodoo amps years ago and I explicitly stated "I only want components added to my amp. No silicone, or anything that would mar the inner appearance and stop me from going back to stock" They told me they wouldn't work on my amp if I wouldn't allow that because they were afraid someone would steal their ideas, as if they were original in any way.

How does it sound? That should be the most important factor. If it sounds kickass to you that is #1.
