Marshall JTM45 RI - can the Dagnall 4192 PT handle KT66?

Post by Nana » Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:52 pm

Hi everyone

i have a 2002 Marshall JTM45 RI with the Dagnall 4192 PT

I want to use KT66 in my amp but would like to know if the Dagnall 4192 PT can handle the extra current draw (KT66 draw 1.3A while 5881 draw 0.9A if I’m right). Does anyone know if that PT is build to handle the KT66?

Also, will I need to change any parts to make it work or I can just swap the current tubes for KT66, bias the amp and I’ll be good to go?

Thanks in advance

Yes they can, not a problem.

Most KT66 seem to sound best at around 440/450v.
