Hopefully someone can help.
I’ve recently acquired a 94 SLP which has had a number of mods done (badly) and I want to return it to stock. I realise this may be considered heresy to some (or many :D )

All I can seem to find are the original 1959, the Jcm800 1959, the looped 1959 and the 1959hw.

In my defence I will happily rate my 2 stock 1987x against my 73, aural magic. Soi guess you can appreciate why the wish to taste the original first.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

What mods have been done to the amp? I would think that the original 1959 schematic would be the same as the r.i.

They’ve snipped the bright caps, a few of the of resistors andcapacitors have also been changed along with most of the buss wire across the pots being removed.

I used to have a "96" SLP that I had a bit of a love hate relationship with. It was a bit on the harsh side. I seem to remember a tech once told me it's closer to a 70's Super Lead than a 69. The presence was more like a 2203 but all in all it wasn't a bad amp.

If I knew what I know now I'd probably lower the filtering and go through the circuit to make sure the component values are all to 69 spec and maybe some component upgrades. But it would have been quite a challenge for a complete beginner because of the circuit board being printed.

Sounds like you know your way around it though. I would maybe drop Marshall (UK) an email and explain your situation, I've usually found them very helpful in the past.
