Marshall 1987X reissue is noisy as heck when you turn it on

My Marshall 1987X is an awesome amp right out of the box but it's quite noisy. Some Les Paul brothers recommended that I get NOS RCA or Mullard preamp(12ax7) tubes and take out the marshalls and Clay Finley suggested that I change the coax and a 68k resistor(i think that's right).

Anyways any thing or direction would be greatly appreciated. I live out in California so any Amp gurus that you would suggest, however I am pretty handy to do things myself!

Sincerely

Hi Bluesbubba, welcome to the forum.

Those suggestions should get you on the right track. You can eventry moving the green wires from the input jacks to the board around to see how their position effects noise. It's surprizing how much difference you can make just by moving them a little.

This of course illistrates why the shielded cable is a good idea to replace these wires.
