Damn, I've got tears from laughing at this. I had the same thing happen to me when I was in a catholic school with a nun.
Cheers to the ears.

I want to tell you (and reprimand you as well, because you have questionable taste) you shocked me by recreating this "crunchy guitar riff" song. I happened upon this forum from a youtube link and was really surprised.
This is Steve - as in Gene Simmons and Steve Coronel - who wrote "She". Alright, let's not faint. A bit of rock history - of the song's creation - Basically, Gene finished writing this song when I brought it to our rehearsal loft - one night in Chinatown. The song started earlier that afternoon +/- 37 years ago - when I brought home a black, Acoustic "Black Widow" model electric guitar. Looked kind of like a Mosrite Venture's model, but all black and with a set neck and used the same Acoustic amp dials of spun aluminum on it. I plugged into my plexi, and within half an hour, wrote "DA DA * * da da * * DA DA DA DAHH * DA DA DA DAH - etc, etc. Okay. That night at rehearsal ( Wicked Lester ) Gene listened, then drew cartoons of Pocahontas in blue ballpoint, and wrote the first verses in his notebook; when he sang it back to me, I liked the melody against my riff, but had doubts about the story - he explained that this "she" was a child of the night woods, or something to that effect, and as she emerged into a clearing, she gazed up at the moon, and disrobed - okay - right - but it stuck, so we rehearsed it as written - Ace put the middle solo work in himself when he joined Gene and Stan, a few years later. End of story. - BTW all the Metro amp clips are stunning. Glad to see the upholding of great tone by a few dedicated builders like Metro. Also, Wicked Lester used to play "All Right Now" in our set. Love that song. Please keep up the good work and ROCK HARD!!! - Steve C

That's a cool story. I was a major KISS fan in the day and today, am a huge Gene Simmons fan with his Family Jewels show.
Cheers to the ears.

No doubt, Steve! The third album I ever bought was "Dressed To Kill", & "She"'s riff stood out & just clubbed me over the head at first listen, and every time since. And if not for the back-cover "mystery" of that "Simmons/Coronel" writing credit, I'd have never gotten hip to Wicked Lester, known who the hell Bullfrog Bheer was, or generally became the overflowing font of KISS trivia that I am today. And to some of us, "little" things like that truly do mean a lot. So thanks again, Steve--you ROCK. Now...let's get you into a Metro plexi & schedule a jam!

funny shit

We had a talent show going in HS and decided to do a KISS tribute, full make up and all. At the audition (no make up) I showed the judges the insert from the Alive album and how we were going to dress. We'll we sucked enough not to make the audition but the next day the Assitant principal stopped me in the hall and demanded to know what was up with MY band "Kiss"! He said kids were writing KISS all over the school and he demanded that I tell them to stop or I would be in trouble!!! It'a good thing I had a Kiss album with me for proof or he would never have believed were weren't the real Kiss. Shoulda sold him some concert tickets!
