LP/Darkburst pup = 45/100 = Settings: BrV-8, TM-10, B-0, P-4 = Custom attenuator = 4x12 w/H55 scums.

In hindsight its dialed in too aggressive for that song which is less treble/presence and so less gain, slightly fuzzier tone all around. Probably better for AC/DC

Lol thanks. Its just the Line6 gearbox vintage plate I think. That or maybe rich chamber? I was attenuated pretty low so the gain is a little too much but the tone is there I think. The old recording sounds like it has less treble and presence but he's cranked so its smoother, percussive and fuzzy. This really isnt like most other marshalls youll play. I was surprised by the difference. Im psyched tho. Im loving it.

The 45/100 is my ultimate Marshall, the way it sustains in the higher registers seems much easier for me to play without wanting extra overdrives or boosts (which isn't to say I don't have them.......) and the ease with which I can back off my pick and get chimey almost-cleans is to die for.

How far down was the attenuator? I like the apparent lack of compression to the recording, the attack comes through nice.

I'd also say don't be shy about experimenting with the bass turned up, mine has been creeping up to halfway for a while now. It can start to get a little squishy but you can keep it under control, I have faith in you (since I suspect your technique isn't as sloppy as mine.)

I dont know. Ive turned it up at times but I love the soft grind of notes on the low E when its on 0. When you start to turn it up lead lines are nice but then you loose the grind in those notes and start to get fat notes that cover up the harmonics. Its kind of a catch 22. It always is. Bass=better lead lines, rumbly chords. Ive kinda gone the opposite way. I have the volume on 10, the bass on 0, treble on 2 and mids on 7. Then it gets that same kinda thick lead lines but its just cleaner since the tone controls are down so far. Different but the same sing I think.

Its attenuated pretty low too so keep that in mind. 2 watts max through the speakers. Loud enough to move the speakers but nowhere near marshall loud. Im sure unattenuated itd be a different ballgame but thats my life. I still say an attenuated marshall still sounds better then most other shit out there. I mean Id have to attenuate a UniValve (I had one and I did) so wtf...

Ill remove the underway lol. The first part I bought for that amp was a year ago so I was in no rush.

Some cheapo mic I have. The only decnet mic I have anymore is a 57 and I dont even have it. Its on permanent loan with a friend. I dont use it for anything important so what the hell.

Ive been giving it a try. It does sound nice too. Its kinda the best of marshall without the flashy tricks with some of the best fender qualities thrown in for good measure.
