Curious in order?

In order:

1.mp3
2.mp3
3.mp3

1 seems to breathe a little more. It is a little more gritty and flat even with the little bit of low mid "woof". They are all good.

What are the differences? EQ post mike(s)? Or actuall mods to the amp?

All recorded with same mic position though the amp #2 could of been EQ'd better but was a odd set up. Same guitar Les Paul. Alnico II slash pups. Marshall 4X12 Vintage 30's. Don't want to give up amps yet.

My preference is #2. For that tone there's more grit, more midrange. The other clips are smoother.

They're all pretty close.
I'll go 2,3,1.

2 may have had more body, or bottom.
3 seemed like it had a touch more gain?

here's a complete shot in the dark. I'll stick with vintage Marshall to guess from.

2 is shared cathode but superlead. (I would have guessed SB, but the mids were strong)
1 and 3 split cathode?
3 superlead
1 superbass.


Probably WAY off on the guessing....You should give us the spec/amp and see if we can guess them right. Too many variables. You might even be slaving something. Or sneaking something in there.

Just listened with my reference headphones.... Changed things a bit.
Too close to pick a winner.... I'm guessing more pre-amp distortion than poweramp.

All sound real good but then again I'm listening to it through the tinny speakers in My Vaio. So I could be very wrong on which amp is which

1 - 5153 (fav for me. Thick mids and girth)

2 - Hairy Brown Eye. Not much fizz could of been EQ'd better I admit

3 - TSL. More Bite.

For me, simply :
1-2-3.
To me, the first one has the best balance about bass, middle and highs.
I don't like the mid-scooped sound of the third one.
