hi guys!

I am a guy from germany and new to this forum.
I got 3 Marshalls and this time i made some fast clips from my new one called Brutus.

Image

this is the crunch channel via a celestion 65 watt with my di marzio strat on the bridge position recorded with a rode NT2:

I recorded this shot riff 2 times: one with less treble and the other with more treble.

the other clip: same setup but different guitar: a fender telly 68 on the neck PU for lead and middle position for rhythm.

have fun!

the amp is a handbuilt 50 watts marshall in a small top.
the amp got an extra gain stage and you can do sounds from a 1987 to a good tuned JCM800.

speaker was a celestion 65watt.

micophone was a rode NT2 into a SPL channel One Mic Preamp(with Lundahl Transformers) into a E-MU 1820m into cubase 3SX.
just a little reverb and two wave plugs RComp with soft compression and the L2 maximizer with soft limiting. thats all.

I recorded with the same setup, but with a different speaker:
the good old vox alnicos in an old vox 2x12 box.

It was harder to find the sweet spot for the microphone. with the celestion 65watt a close mico did the best job, but the alnicos need more room to breathe....
know what i mean..!?
i like the alnico compression!
