I have had the first two albums for ages and love them bunches.
but I never dared to take on some of these songs.
partly because I felt it was blasphemic (/jk) and partly because I never thought I could pull it off.

until recently. I was very surprised by how much fun that is...

Now I started practising seriously. ...in anticipation of the 12xxx kit that should be shipped tomorrow or wednesday : )))

and because I'm so happy right now, I thought I'd just post my current practice state here.

there's a lot of stuff I still have to work on. The trills for instance... they're killing me.
Anyone got a good excercise for trills?

and of course getting it all blend together smoothly.

about 99 % of the notes are in there somewhere... but the phrasing/fluidity and speed definitely needs work... especially the trills and the run just before the tremolo picking.

I have a 80s japan strat coming and will put a Humbucker in it (gonna try the "Atomic Punk '78" by David Barfuss...), I guess I'll have to learn the whammy bar stuff then
I'll leave the vintage trem on there at first, my experience is, with some adjuting and good lubrication of the nut they can be reasonably pitch-stable. ...as long as they float: a tender yank after a dive, and you're good to go again.

and yes, I'll see if I can post clips of the 12000 once it's done. I have no mic, so I might blow the dust off my old Palmer PDI-05 =)

oh, that reminds me, I gotta also try slaving my SLO via the TAD Silencer with the RE-20 (pedal version of the Space Echo) in between... mhhh
