Trannies are no problem, I can have them wound at any time. It's the chassis and panels that I have to make to get these going.

Just to clarify, that's Flames1950's build in these pics. His builds looks every bit as good as I could do. If not better.

Check out Plexi Replicas for my personal amp builds...

The real 67 sounds way way better than the replica............Why?

Could you do more clips using the same orignal old stock tubes in both amps?

The replica has the same voicing as the real, but thats all - the real has so much more life, depth, and a focused complex tone it is really awsome. The replica just sounded flat. I pretty much only use NOS tubes and they do sound a hell of a lot better than the new stuff (although JJ and Valve Art are my favorites for new - sometimes EV)

I have to tell you that I like the 67 replica better. I know its not PC, but it sounds a little bigger to me. It totally changes what I think of the tone of modern tubes. I guess they are built better and last longer, but if this is the example, they sounds just as good to me.

Wow, both of these amps sound wonderful, and have that Kossoff tone for sure. I like the loose spongy sound of the original just a little more, but feel with Mullard tubes and maybe a few cap value changes, the replica could sound pretty much the same as the original. Both sound killer!! Was thins done with a P-90 LP or humbuckers?

Do you think Koss is playing a Super Lead or Super Bass Plexi in these two clips? And could your 67 get close to this tone?

the 67 would get close but to me that sounds more like a later superbass with the dagnall and the higher filtering. but I'm not positive
