Yeah, the poor 45/100 got lost in the chassis shuffle. If you don't have time to worry about those anymore I can recommend a shipping address where it will find a loving home.
I confess I'd like a little more variety too. The dimed clips sound great but often seem more overdriven to me that the original riffs you're playing; I'd love to hear the amps captured down around eight or so when there's a touch less fur and compression and a little more ballsy punch (it's a slight difference I know.
)
I had to dime my 45/100 to get enough overdrive to pull off that last bit of my Metro Jam clip, but I rarely ever hear the sound I really want when I have mine on ten. A later style amp like my Super Bass clone I can even get the sound I want down at about 7-1/2........that's sacrilige to some, but sounds more like what I hear on many old tunes.

I think you might need clips with different types of guitars, say throw in the odd Strat or Tele. Gotta have those single coils sounding good too.

Hey George the 400V sounds a bit flubby and the 500V Tightens it much better....
You would be better to Clean up amp and also try low input jacks jumpered to show off AC/DC type stuff.....

I'm all about the 500v..it's a lttle tighter..interesting indeed !! but both are amazing

Trusting all those who have input to this request by VG...
(through reputable headphones...)
I do Like the 500v clips as recorded. But, as for the clips, as recorded with chemistry of gear...
I hear alot of sizzle in freq's that are unattractive to the ear.
For Ex: My ear favors the Metro Kit CD - Unchained - ... (comparing apples to apples, of course )- I do not know the gear or how it was recorded...
I heard both 400v & 500v clips of the initial listener clips and they both had the same characteristics.
Although, as mentioned before, the 500v clips had a tad more clarity and openness but both the 4&5 hundo clips had high-end frequency fizzzzz...???

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted. It's getting to be my slow season so I thought I'd take advantage of the time and try to get me a Metroamp built. What happened to the links of the sound clips? I'd love to hear this '68.

George, The Heritage G12M speakers that you did the sound
clips with, are you saying they are the 20 watt 15 ohm ones
that they use in the Marshall 18 watt hand wired?

Yes those exact speakers are the ones used by Marshall in the Handwired 18W 1974X amps...

I've struggled with the getting all the amps faithfully to tape. I'm yet to capture the essence of what it sounds feels like to stand in front of a Metro amp.
I was messing around with my favorite Rockstah clip, trying the Radial JDX and the SPL Transducer (both cab and mic emulation boxes). Then I stuck my Neumann TLM49 in front of my old slant cab and hit record.
Here's the chain:
Rockstah DI guitar clip in Nuendo
reamp'ed out via Radial X-amp
Metro '68 100 watt replica: Vol I, Treble, mids, Presense 10; bass, Volume II 0. Low voltage setting.
'70 slant cab with reconed G12H's
Neumann TLM49 slightly off the center of the cone
Hamptone FET mic pre
Apogee AD16X
UAD emulation of Urei 1176 compressor
UAD emulation of EMT plate 140
Exported from Nuendo as 128kb MP3.
This captured more of the vibe than any setting on either cab emulation box. Give a listen.
