Listen silverdog, they are for other people, I have the original transferred from VHS Lenningrad to DVD show myself, You Tube is what other people put up, you'd be surprised how many people don't buy dvd's or are too lazy to even search You Tube. I find your comment offensive unless I am misinterpreting it, of course I have enough money..I have spent countless dollars on official Malmsteen product, are you new to You Tube??
I have been information sharing on Malmsteen since 2006 on the internet and started the original Malmsteen section here that was taken down and replaced by the current artists section, also have been a member of the old official forum, which they pulled and the new unofficial one.
Also I'm sorry if you don't understand..
.
So don't get me started about anything official from Malmsteen, you sound like you don't understand what has gone with the Malmsteen management and official releases recently. Please don't insult me in this fashion, thanks, since you are new here, welcome, just don't rattle my cage, with remarks like that.
And joining in 2008 with 8 posts, is hardly contributory

I always misspell Leningrad and no I don't remember you and yes I can be dramatic but that is besides the fact, as for my writing, show me what you have written or contributed.
As far as calling me a girl, if you mean am I dramatic, sure so what, also have worked with women for over 13 years as a nurse, so you try that.
I just don't get what the hell you are going on about and part of the price it seems of information sharing is to be mocked or unfairly criticized, so be, what my fellow man does is annoying, but I expect it.
Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone..

Sheesh, what's the problem here? I count on Dave to alert me to cool youtube videos... If that's a "problem" for someone else, just don't click on Dave's threads. Problem solved!

Yeah, his YouTube clips are good and all that but these are better

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1Y73sPHKxw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Seriously, these are the worst YouTube clips and all vocoders should be banned and I never want to see these YouTube clips again but they resurfaced for YouTubes 5th year on some TV shows, unfortunately.
What was life like before YouTube?
The things that seem to get the most hits on YouTube are the dumbest things around. Some good things are there as well if they don't get removed by the company that owns the rights.

leadguy, from what i can read in your posts you're a cool dude. you've been through the age of awesome tube amps, gigging, and great music, and i'm honestly jealous of all the older guys on this site, since i can never go back there and see what you've all seen.
by contrast, i don't think many of you guys quite understand the weird memes that come from the seedy corners of the internet, like /b tards (or any / on 4chan), digg, and reddit, facebook, etc. i don't like most of it myself, but its the culture my generation has sparked so i'm well aware of it, like it or not. the beauty of it though is that anyone can post nearly anything they like. content is no longer dictated by record companies or publishers, you can do whatever you like if you have the right tools. its great on the one hand, but on the other it also lends itself to a lot of bullshit timewasting videos that attempt to be creative or shocking like the ones you referred to. i was into that stuff for a short time, but eventually i realized it was a lot more fun and interesting to be creative or shocking with friends, in real life, on a daily basis. i can only hope that i will impart the importance of real interaction to the next generation, as i have a feeling it will become quite scarce in the upcoming decades

I agree about YouTube. I don't want to derail the thread but I was attempting some YouTube humour with Keyboard Cat etc after the thread started turning a bit strange.
I think yngwie308 finds some great stuff on the Tube and I hope some younger dudes will see it and not just stick with Orianthi or John Mayer or something but how many do see it as most of the Youtube big hitters seem to be things like Keyboard Cat or Susan Boyle or something.
There is Jazz all over YouTube, yet there are fewer and fewer places to play it and the audience for even big Jazz names can be in the hundreds at medium/large venues with lots of empty seats.

yes i agree, dave finds some amazing videos!
i've always thought it was strange that kids seem to know about guys like EVH and Hendrix, but they don't know the music, only that they're renowned guitar players. yet they don't bother to think that these guys could be better than the current guitar heroes, if you can even call them that.
i don't think we've had a legitimate guitar hero in quite some time. you'd think at least one would have come along by now
anyway, back to malmsteen chat, and dave's awesome videos!

I posted this guys channel elsewhere, I think in the VH section here I found the link, but he plays Yngwie, EVH, Jake E. Lee, I love the Nuno tune, a lot of the amateur Japanese guitarists are very talented, well if they can be a violin prodigy at 6 years old, they can play geetar..
Thanks for the positive affirmations guys, I love sharing cool stuff, it's like Christmas for me all the time!

Budokan Burn sounds really good! What a tone and playing, Ripper wasn't annoying...good stuff!!!
Yngwie's bridge position tone sounds really close to a Blackmore tone from the early seventies, and the neck tone reminds me of alcatraz 1984 live
