Yes I remember well Carl, this has been an annoying 'white elephant' with Fender for some time now, ever since the YJM MK II models, (vintage trem), this has been a recurrent issue. Some say they can shift the neck in the pocket slightly to compensate for the high E drop off, but that always sounds wrong to me. With the 2007 and up use of the machine screw neck mounting this will be impossible to do.
The issue has been on the Malmsteen board forever and Yngwie does take a second seat to Fender on a lot of things, hence DiMarzio logos on the YJM pickups, which Yngwie never uses, same with the mint green pickup covers and pickguard, the pickguard was changed to white for '07 but the green logoed covers remain.
I am always aware of the high E string almost falling off the neck and this affects my playing on the guitar, spoiling it in a way.
Iron Horse, the scallops on Yngwie's stage guitars #'s 1, 2, and 3 have the deeper scallops, as does the 2007 and up YJM for the first time.
Carl, I may try that mod myself, it's just I'm not playing very much at the moment, thanks.
Two newer pics of the Duck Tribute:

Excerpt from Blue at the Fender 'Clinic' at Dallas, some have remarked how low Yngwie has the neck pickup set in these photos.

Yet another Malmsteen post banging up my numbers, lol.
here is the Seventh Sign in instrumental form from Dallas, sound not the best, but it's cool how he fools around over the neck and still comes in on time to his backing track:

I am looking for that clip with the lasers and fire breathing dragon, it's from the Trilogy era,
how about this Budokan era Trilogy suite:

Burn not included on the official DVD:
It is time to rock........

How about that for Blackmore Chief?
There are excerpts from that video in this clip, but unfortunately it has been removed in whole..

Nice one there.. :D
I'll See The Light Tonight is actually from Marching Out, see I don't know everything.. , great video, Mark Boals mimed a lot to JSS vocals on videos back then.
The video set was borrowed from a Conan film IIRC.

What is creating the high string to slip is it where the slot that has been cut on the brass nut is too close to the edge? Let us know
