Pics of Ex Free Paul Kossoff Super Bass!

Post by pleximaster » Wed Feb 25, 2015 5:35 am

Here are some pics some of you Free fans would enjoy. A 67-68 Super Bass with provenance. However then the trannies were changed is not known to me, but in 70´s. It was in recent years unfortunately refurbished by marshall, recovered and new pots and removing of the bulgin plug etc as they usually does.

More traffic in the Marshall section - I rarely look here so maybe same for others. Gut shots would be nice too :-)

These are great pics, do you have shots of the front and back panels plus the head cab? Is this your amp, if so what is the story? Most likely some classic tunes were recorded with this head! Yep, this should be in the Marshall section.

Don´t think its a heyboer...
Chris ****** thought it might be a Drake HIFI transformer from early 70´s. Ops I just forgot to send him the dimensions to him...

No afraid not. Mr ****** much more likely to know! The PT looks to be a later Dagnall (standup type) but with random end bell with selector on it.

That's exactly what I thought about the mains as well. PlexiM told me different. Maybe he will elaborate here.

Oh I would look at anything I say critically and pull me up if I am wrong, that is how I keep on learning.
That era of amps (late 67/early 68) were double drilled. I have had two in the 104** range that were obviously punched for the then current 1202-132 (2" stack) and then hand-drilled for the Dagnall C1998 (1 1/2" stack) unless of course I had tow that blew their Drake transformers and had them replaced with a Dagnall. Neither had their original PT but I put Dagnall T2562 types in both to match their Dagnall OTs and C1999 chokes. I have seen amps in the SL/10 series with lower numbers and Dagnalls too.
