what pots for a jtm45/100 ?

Post by Xplorer » Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:29 am

Hello,
i was wondering which pots i should buy , not necessarly NOS ( so they might have more chances to work better i guess ) , for a jtm45/100, about the same look but especially : working the ame, precise, working from 0 to 10, audio tapers, and 1 linear. 2w i guess for all of them ? and also, the right dimensions , so when fixed, the knobs would fit perfectly without any mod...

what was very successful for you ?
thanks !

2W is not necessary. I prefer alphas myself, they have a very warm sound.

thank you ! do you have a nice source ? i don't know which ones i should choose, what size , etc ...

i've seen some marshall parts here : http://www.hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/perl ... =230520751" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i also wonder which jack inputs i should get, to be accurate, there are so many parts that are called with the same name, but they're all different.
same for the tube sockets. black ones i think.
i'm trying to be quite accurate and have some very good performances for all the parts i'm choosing.
if you have some time to lead me a little it's very cool. thanks !

I have tried them all :wink:

Nothing wrong with Alphas IMO, although I could not detect a difference in tone :thumbsup:

The pecs are very solid well made kit, feel a bit scratchy due to wire vs carbon tracks and you cannot solder them as backs are SS, oh and I no longer have easy access to them since store shut!

Slow :wink:
