Definitely found my holy grail !

these little records aren't even played through a real cab ( again, spl, different stuffs ... sorry for the mix which is more often not dry. some other clips later through a g12h30 i think .... )
But lot of fun ! can't stop playing it :shred: 8) :D

love these slider's 69 pickups ! dunlop blue fuzz, voodoo vibe.

bright channel vol at only 4 ( the fuzz does the job, except for the clip 2 where the volume is on 10, without fuzz )
presence at zero, basse at 1 , middle and treble at 10.

Sounds much better now, right ? :D

Dude, that Macine Gun clip is f-cking awesome! TONE!
Is the ghosting due to the setup (into load, headphones, computer, effects etc) or is the amp the same live? Maybe it doesn´t bother you and some ghosting is expected with a JTM45/100 I guess, even with a killer one like this!

Inspirational buildquality as well,
I can see why your happy with this one!

Thanks ! well it was 3 Am when i played this through headphones lol, and it sounded better through my headphones than now that i'm hearing it through my hi fi. just cutting some little samples of a long recordof near two hours. just to show how it reacts, not necessarly good playing i'm sorry.

I don't really know what ghosting is actualy, so i couldn't tell. But i can tell that there are some effects, just for fu when i was playing, two delays, the acoustic of the room thanks to altiverb, the transducer, the speaker simulation with IR's ....
and the fuzz and univibe in front of the amp ... that's not simple for sure. But at least i can play "that loud", just in my headphones lol :D

i could try the amp on a real little cab, but attenuated, and i didn't notice any special hum or hiss. Is it the ghosting you're talking about ?

yeah, i keep saying that the JTM 45/100 is the only amp that could have produced this special low end tone signature, i could get actualy much much closer to the bog tone , depending on the conditions a bit. but without forcing really.

Well, I haven´t heard ghosting live either and reading your post know its probably the delay I´m hearing. From what I´ve gathered ghosting is when the amp produces "overtones" to what your playing, often due to low filtering or grounding issues. That would have been way easier to explain in swedish..

One of the gurus will probably chime in soon enough.
Still, sounds and looks great, good job!

Aaah, ok. Yes, it doesn't seem to produce overtones like delays. it's straight when playing dry. But i'd have to do some more tests. this is just delays from cubase ^^, and not my echoplexs unfortunately, which sound way different and better. i wish i could restore them completely to see them work properly 100%.

That tone is killin' it! And that's not even through a 4x12. You're right about the bottom end, there's NOTHING like a 45/100 with KT66s. I haven't even fired up my 12,000 yet and I can't WAIT to start on one of these! What a crazy addiction we all have on this site. Great job and great amp, congrats. :jimi:

If you are going for similar vibe to the one you have built the 45/100 with El34s is pretty cool. It has a bit more grind and is less percussive when you run it clean but a bit more dirt and sustain when over driven. I really like the 68 spec split cathode amp with Dagnalls too, although the EVH stuff sort of passed me by in my youth the tones it provides are pretty cool.

Guess you probably need one of each!

+1 for a '68 superlead. I just finished one and it's nothing short of amazing. It definitely has that EVH flavor and then much more.

68 specs ? i don't really know how it sounds, do you have some good examples ?

about the 45/100 with el34 ... maybe, but should i just swap tubes and adjust the bias ? is that all ? the 45/100 stock , just with el34 ? or should i change transformers, power board ... Black flag way .... ?
Because if so, i could temporarly put some el34 in my 45/100 to see if i like it..

for now this 45/100 has just enough dirt and it's clean enough, allowing machine gun ( it can't be made from an aggressive amp, the base has to be clean enough, the fuzz does the job a lot ) .

I converted my '70 Superlead to '68 specs and I love it too ! Great lead amp with tight bass.
It's version 7a on Roe's page : http://folk.ntnu.no/roef/JTM100.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
