His guitar slung across his back, his dusty boots is his cadillac.

Listen to 42-43 seconds, it has this plasticy sortve sound to it, for a split second kinda like a nylon string, although Im not saying thats what it is. If you've ever plugged in an electric classical guitar, the clip has that quality about it for a SPLIT second. Then all the sudden it rolls up into a real beefy sound.

Its like the secret of the sound is this strange combo of a plasticy sound on the guitar, perhaps coming from a better bridge and saddle combo, then the marshall brings in the beef. The guitar being punchy and plasticy enough adds those overtones and articulation while the marshall just does the job of acting like a thickening agent.

I know it sounds sorta crazy but theres something there. Listen to it with headphones very carefully. Its like hearing the rig with a lot of clarity before that fatness rolls all over the signal.

Starts witht he fuzz on and the volume rolled back. Clicks off the fuzz and the volume drops out since its just guitar to amp, just for a split second until he brings the volume knob up on the guitar. Rolled back fuzz tone is real clean but real trebly.

Here's the album version- just sounds like he's picking lightly while Bill Graham announces the band. That Strat/Marshall clean/dirty tone has been copied by nobody I ever heard.

The night before, he whacks the fuzz on at 3:50. You can hear he's way more distorted than the album version. Can't really tell when or if he turns it off

The amps are so deep, the transitions between fuzz on/off are seemless

One month later at MSG. Not playing well, but same fuzz neck pu tone-
