Anybody familar with Altecs Voice of the Theater cabinets Hendrix used all the time? A few years ago my and my G.F. bought a bunch of stuff and there was 4 big Altec cabinets. They had a 15 and a big Metal horn in the top. Had handles and wheels in front so you could just tilt them back a go!Anyway we bought them for 100.00 each. They were in great condition and they worked. Now when I watch any old Jimi Hendrix live stuff I see the same cabs either behind the drummer between the Marshall stacks or on the sides of the stage. Was it stupid to of sold them? I wouldnt think they held their value like a 100 watt Marshall stack does. I almost couldnt give them away. No loss though? Right. Getting rid of them? BTW in the same deal we got 3 JBL archetict moniters.(JBL's custom shop) for 100.00 each! They were loaded with 2 12's and a 2 " horn. HEAVY :) I almost tore my arm off lifting and carrying one! sold them for 1500.00. Come to find out they cost 1100.00 each!!

Hendrix didnt use them. They were there for Mitch to hear.
They were Altec cabs but not Vice Of The Theaters as a guy on Plexi Palace pointed out.

oi, Voice of the Theater's....

We (I owned 'em) had a pair for PA. I moved those fuckers by myself most of the time! After all it was "my" PA.... Up and down stairs, while the rest of the band chased chicks, got fucked or whatever they did after the show. Moving those fuckers got old. Kept me in good shape though!
