The best were Randy's BOG clips which were taken down a few years ago, those were scary, note for note, eerie...

I kinda outgrew this guy. What's he in his mid 50's? Get a life for Christ sake. Those recent clips aren't for me.

There are guys that actually PLAY coherent solos these days in Jimi tunes, not his "gymnastic first" (jumping around like a fool) approach, where IMO the playing is secondary.

You guys ever heard of a guy named Ricki Hendrix? Had to be about 20 years ago. He played a show here in Reno. Claimed to be Jimi's cousin or something. I partied with him all weekend and he sure played the part but I never heard about him again. I always wondered if he was really related.

Kind of testy aren't we Carl?? I know that you are the authority on Hendrix, Trower, Bolin, Jeff Beck, ect. yes they are some what sloppy, I am in my mid-fifties so what. I kind of stay away from any criticism of you as I don't wish to enter into any contests as to who knows more than the other.
I just get a grumpy vibe off of you mostly. Lot's of people get into musical ruts, Randy has been doing this so long he probably dosen't know what else to do.
Let me just say for the record, it was my idea to have a Hendrix Topics section after I joined this forum, along with my Malmsteen Topics. I realize you have been involved in this shit for a long time and you are a good player, just lighten up ok... :) :)

Do a search and read about Ricki Hendrix. I hate to spoil the whole story. The guy has a web site where he spills the whole tale, worth reading.

I've looked. Just searched again but I can only find a short piece about him being Jimi's 3rd cousin. At a woodstock reunion I think. Do have a link to the article you found?

I think I made a mistake. There was a web site about a white guy who claimed to be Jimi half brother and played guitar like Jimi and had a Jimi song that hadn't ever been recorded. Anyway can't find that. I did find Riki Hendrix. He was recently in a accident broke his hip.

Hey Yngwie, who is that woman you show a picture of? She looks eerily just like one of my first girlfriends in high school, Debbie Mule (pronounced mew-lay).

If she were blond she looks like my first wife.

Ok, I see that now. The resemblence to Debbie is uncanny.

thanks Alex, that's him. He stayed at a mutual friends house that weekend while playing in Reno and we just partied our asses off. It's a little foggy but his guitar was either broken mirror or abalony shell that he had at the house. It was sweet, I do remember that. He'd put it down and I'd pick it up. I wish the memory was a little clearer.

Remember that kid in class, back when you were in school? He always had the right answer and was always first to raise his hand. Everyone would look at each other and roll their eyes. Well that's how I feel and if this is a master class here, excuse me, I have more important things to do with my life than engage in a one way dialog with someone who you cannot tell anything to...
