Dear sir, could you explain what you exactly build? Schematic perhaps? Thanks!

This is what Travis built and in my conversations with him, he loved the sound of this pedal. The current RM Axis Fuzz is an updated version of this same circuit, but the original is a slightly different animal. I changed the Q3 cap value to 47µF to alleviate some of the splattyness at high fuzz settings. the original is 220µF if you'd like to try that.

this is literally the Tyco Octavia without the octave circuit, here's some info on that for comparison.

I found that some concerts in 1970 had a darker sounding fuzz.. like LA Forum for example. He used the wah when he needed to brighten it up for that on fire kind of tone.

I own a Roger Mayer Axis fuzz which I love, but find to be a very bright sounding fuzz. I enjoy using it, but want to add another fuzz pedal, preferably with this darker hendrix tone, that also seems more aggressive in the pick attack.

Thoughts?
LA Forum in 1970 is one of my favorite shows..I have it on Rubber Dubber Trademark of quality colored vinyl bootleg.
I have played the Roger Mayer Voodoo fx pedal and though this was many years ago I gifted it to my old buddy the lead guitarist in the curent American Led Zep tribute band Get The Led Out.
I am thinking that my Buffalo FX Patriot Civil War Sovtek Big Muff clone is covering my fuzz/distortion needs check out this version of Sorrow from Pink Floyd which has the Sovtek Civil War pedal

Keep in mind that a lot of those later shows Jimi had the Amps with 6550s in them :jimi:
