Yeah, if you wanna do this on the cheap, a Traynor is the way to go. I think a YBA-1A might do the trick better, as it's bigger and bolder.

I've got a '68 YBA-2B with 6V6GTs and it's got tons of sustain and touch sensitivity. I imagine yours is an EL84 version. Maybe it needs some tweaking...

Not sure about that code ? They were made in Mexico though. It would be a tweed cover (black wasnt an option on the '90's era models).
