Re: Nash S-68 HX - Anyone own one?
Well I guess it is too late now.. I just ordered the Nash S-68HX in black with light relic. I reallly wanted the white (which I currently have on my Fender MIJ 68 reissue), but they didn't have it and the black was on special 30% off. So I figured why not save $600.
The guitar has lollar vintage voiced pickups (though I'll likely put in my slider 69s), upside down like hendrix, and finished in nitro. The only downside is that the neck is not maple capped, but I'm hoping this doesn't affect things too much. All in all, have heard great things about Nash guitars and them being up to par if not better than the fender custom shops.
Once I get the guitar (ordered online), I'll post some thoughts here

Very cool, please post pics!
I have a Nash that is really great. I played about 15 Strats and picked this guitar over all the rest. The Loller PU's are great, nice and quacky.
I think like any guitar purchase, you have to play as many as you can and pick the one you gravitate towards.

I'll be sure to post pics once I get the guitar, George.
Awesome, glad to hear the Lollars sound good.. maybe I'll leave them in.
Unfortunately there are not many Nash guitars here in Toronto, and never have I seen their Hendrix guitar, so I had to order online. Hoping she's a keeper!

I believe that is my actual Nash in that video. I ordered the black from Prymaxe which they only had one, and all the markings look the same as on mine, which I just got recently. I'll post my thoughts on it later.yngwie308 wrote:Here is great review sounds killer:

Re: Nash S-68 HX - Anyone own one?
Hi All,
Thought I'd talk about the Nash now that I've had it for a month.
So one thing that I noticed when I got it is there is a considerable amount of fret buzz on the first 5 frets. I'm sure this is due to having it shipped as I bought it online. Plus the action is very very low, which is likely adding to this. I have yet to get it set up. One other negative is that even slightly using the whammy puts the guitar out of tune.. But talking to another owner of this guitar, he said it is due to the tusq nut.. will be changing it to a bone nut.
Aside from the above, everything else about the guitar is great. The relic job is tasteful and light. The Lollar Dirty Blonde pickups do sound quite good, but have more of a late 50s/early 60s kind of tone, rather than a late 60s tone. Will likely put in my Slider '68 pickups in them. The bridge pickup of the lollars is actually from their special set and is more of a modern voicing. The neck feels very good and the intonation is great. A few tweaks and this will be an amazing guitar!

Wasn't really looking for a relic actually.. this guitar just happened to come with it. What I really wanted was a well made upside-down strat, and the Nash fit the bill. Also the nitro is a nice touch.Tone seaker wrote:
