'68 spec plexi filter cap questions

Post by tWreCK » Thu Jun 13, 2019 11:48 am

Hi,

What is the minimum voltage rating for V1A cap? I have some RS 250uF 25V caps - will they work?

Thx/Peter

I'd say 450v. If your doing the two 32uF+32uF cans for the screens (series/parallel) you could get away with 350v.

Thx for the info! I found the answer to the question in an old thread so I edited my question to the V1A cap.

I'm not sure what you mean by series/parallel? If I have say, 2 x 32uF 275V caps in series wouldn't the total voltage rating be 550V? Sorry about the noob questions.......... :?

For the V1A cathode cap (250uF) a six volt rating is the lowest I'd recommend.
Regarding the series/parallel thing... Two 32uF+32uF cans at 350v each would yield 700vdc max.
