WTB: JBL D120F

Post by VelvetGeorge » Sun Jan 18, 2009 2:54 pm

I'm looking for an original JBL D120F with original cone in tact. I picked up a B15 Ampeg project amp with a blown CTS square magnet (which I'll recone). But I'd like to hear the optional factory upgrade JBL too.
Technically, I know the JBL was factory option in the 60's, but this is a '72 or 73. Not sure if they still offered it. Ampeg had been through a lot by '73.

Looking forward to this amp, Ebay score with some old tubes. Cab is in rough shape, but it has found a good home!

BTW I wouldn't be opposed to a nice D130 either. :P

Got a sweet deal today. D130F with original cone for $75. Can't wait to hear this alnico speaker in the B15. Which sounds incredible BTW!

The CTS in the cab turned out to be fine too, bonus. This amp sounds like 100's of old records with my '78 P bass.

George - You're going to be one "in demand" bass player with both a B-15 and an SVT. Post some clips if you can. I've always wanted a nice B-15.

When's the kit going to be available, I need a good bass amp.......my '66 Bassman may have "bass" in the name but it says "guitar" when I plug it in.
