AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH

Terry you SOB, you have to come up with real good shit when I'm flat broke. :lol:
I'd love a trio of those, and even more I'd love a quad of Syl 6V6's, but that sure ain't happening in the next couple of months.

Anybody wanna buy a refinished 4104 quick? :wink:

I received my Meatballs today and I'm very, very, pleased with them. OK, really effing happy with them!!!!!!!!!

I had been running a JAN Sylvania 12ax7wa in v1 and the JJs that came with my '69 100W kit in v2+3. These tubes way warmed up the amp and got rid of the tinny highs I've wanted to be rid of. I haven't had much other experiance with other tubes, but I can say these are a good score.

I may score another set to keep in reserve.

Thanks TT for the great tubes and service!

You can say that again. I never cease to be amazed at how phenomenally those JJ preamp tubes suck. Put one in and listen to the tone go poop instantly. To illustrate my point - I experimented with tubes in my Fulltone TTE a long while ago. I had forgotten what I had in there. Funny thing was - whenever I plugged it in, especially when just using the preamp side of it - I always ended up with listening fatigue. It just didn't sound all that great...a bit cold and harsh, a little piercing, yet with a funny lopside like someone took a bit of the bass out. Opened it up, and what did I discover? My, my... a pesky JJ ECC83S. The manual had the tube sockets mixed up, so I had en EI in what I thought was the preamp socket, and the JJ in what I thought was the echo repeat driver socket...only it was the other way around. JJ duly replaced with a 50s GE I got from TubeTramp last fall. Glory, glory hallelujah! Finally this thing sounds like it's supposed to - full, dynamic and warm.

Got my meatballs and put them into my '73 Super Bass (in V2 and V3, with V1 sporting a NOS Mullard CV4024), and WOW!! What a difference from the new Tung-Sols in there!!! Can't wait to hear them in my '74 SB tonight!!

Edited to add: WOW!!! What a HUGE difference they made in my '74 SB!! Just amazing - louder, more bottom end, overall MUCH rounder tone, and a TON of sustain!!!! :D

Thanks TT!

Cheers!

Hello, if available I would like to buy a trio. I can't seem to find a way to email you. Also interested in the 5881's you mentioned in another post, although I realize it's an older post. Maybe a Bugle Boy too....ok thanks!

Try clicking the PM button at the bottom of his original post or try;

or better still;
terry(underscore)kilgore2003 (at) yahoo (dot) com

Be patient for a reply though, Terry disappears occasionally, but always returns with the goods.
