Trim anything sticking out after soldering. It will act as antennas.
Both lower lugs on the power switch should be soldered.

Like SDM has it in his great layout. Add Billy Blatz 1968 layout for the differences in the power section and you have a nice map.

I've put aside work on the main chassis for now - need to figure out some stuff.
Here are some pictures of the Caps board.

Power section is looking good. Now those wires just have to go to the right places...

Re: Please guide me along my 12xxx project
I am populated the board now, using different layouts found on the forum. Here are the two main ones that I am using. I know many of the Marshalls had different components during that era - can anyone comment on how these two different layouts affect tone?

On the wire side of the caps board....don't forget to solder the turret where the 2 red wires connect at the top of the picture (if you haven't already).

Thanks. It doesn't look like there is solder in there, but it has been soldered. I went back and filled up the turret with some more solder.

Re: Please guide me along my 12xxx project
I have the main board done, except for 2 1M resistors (waiting for them to arrive). How am I doing?
I can actually see the end now! Except for the buss wire connecting all pots, the wires just need to go to the right places.
I will have to leave the amp for a while (getting married next week). When I return, I hope to finish the beast. Thanks to everyone who commented on my progress.
Will be back soon.

The two bias caps needs to be reversed, at least from where I stand. The bulged ends (plus) should be against the front of the chassis.

Yes, that is a sure way to make an amp go BANG! Having the polarity wrong on E caps.

Re: Please guide me along my 12xxx project
Thanks. Missed that one. I've corrected it now.
I've just wired up the buss wire on the pots. Pots can be damaged if they are over heated, right? How do I know if I have over-heated?
