There was a few things wrong. The main thing was the PI filter cap was wired backwards. My mistake. Once i got that fixed i had no voltage on the plates of v1. Decided to completly remove the board and re look at everything. Found out that the bus wire for v1 went to the input terminal instead. So fixed that. Then i played it for a few minutes and the PI tube went bad. Changed it out and its working now. The dude i bought the board from on ebay has nothing but great reviews. I should have just built it myself. I bought one more board from him a few ago for my next build. Hopefully it works as advertised. I learned alot from this build. Exactly what i wanted. Thanks to everyone for the help. I took a 450 volt jolt today for the first time this Morning. Goodtimes. Didnt hurt. Just scared me. Great for recalibration of my appreciation for high voltage. Ill start fine tuning it tomorrow and post some clips. Thanks everyone for the help.

So instead of going to the junction of the 100ks for v1, the under-board B+ was going to one of the 68k (input) junctions?

I think it sounds ok. I'm going to put some hours on it first then go from there.

The voicing and feel of the amp is all there. :champ: Right out of the gate, that is the tone, that is what a 12xxx is supposed to do. Compliments on a great build! Whats your next build? Do the boards yourself, that's where the fun is. :toast:

Got about 40 hours on the amp. It sounds slightly different every day.

Made another clip with some reverb. Dimed.

Wow!! Well done. The difference between your first clip and this one is huge. So what is the full signal chain? Guitar to amp to cabinet? What pickup? What cabinet?

guitar is a floyd rose Fender Strat with a rose wood fret board

pickup is a 79 EV Brown sound by S.I.N.

Forgot one thing the signal is going from the guitar through a Boss Ge-10

Amp is fed into a THD hotplate then into a 1960Ax Marshall cab with greenbacks

SM57 mic into garage band

I need to find a place to set up the full stack and dime it with no attenuator.

got a variac of amazon the other day. Cant wait to play around with that and see what happens.

Ive never been able to really tell the difference between transformers until M e r r e n. That dude is the man. Awesome customer service.

Sorry for the late reply. When will I learn that the VH sections are useless here. It all happens down here in the basement anyway. The clip is great! You have reminded me that Chris' tranny's are the shit. He seems to be the only guy producing the right classic 50w tranny's too. I just wish he would settle his affairs with Neikeel, because Neil deserve to be treated better than that! Hey, grab another variac, this time an old Ohmite and use it between the head and cab, it's a great effect for sure.

There is a bunch of Ohmite's on ebay. Which one do you suggust for use between cab and amp? Do you just cut the plug of and install a 1/4 female connectors for the input and output?
Whats amperage would you suggest? Im thinking a lower amp model for between the amp and speaker. I got a 7 amp one for the amp itself.
