Using power section only.

Post by Jerry G » Fri May 16, 2014 11:15 am

I am sure this was covered somewhere but I could not find it.

I would like to know where to wire an input that I can go into from a separate preamp on a 100 Plexi Metro kit.

In other words just use the power section of the amp.

You know, I always wanted to try one of those, I guess this would be a good excuse. Thanks.

I just noticed the Metro store is not open yet, do you know where I can get a kit?

maybe a dumb question here but couldn't he tap into the circuit at the point where the effects loop comes back in without buying a loop? On the other hand if your amp doesn't have a loop, put one in you wont regret it. But for the sake of general knowledge would that be the point of entry into the circuit?

Yes it would be easy enough, still involves dilling a hole and tapping in where the pre-PI MV pot wiper would go.

He could do it with a make/break switching jack/

The loop is more elegant and pretty useful IMO 8)
