The Pro's will tell you no, but for the home hacker with lots of old shit laying around the Orange VT1000 ain't bad. But ain't cheap either...

That looks real interesting. $500 is a lot of money but it probably will save you in the long run.

It is a lot of money, but, for this "home hacker" it's perfect.

Bought the Orange VT1000 and very much like it. Easy to use and being able to check tubes is a wonderful tool.
