I think I can help you out!

While it's technically not a Bluesbreaker, due to lack of tremelo and being a stock JTM 45 chassis) I can build you a 2-12 combo.
We have been gathering resources for the new website, so I have info. Take a look at the attached pics, and take a listen to the sound clips here:

this is my JTM 45 build in 2-12 BB combo cab, loaded with Celestion Golds. Price as shown is $2800. And is less with other speaker options.
I can aslo build this as JTM 50 specs, which is closer to a real BB with EL34's.

I keep going back and forth on KT66's vs EL34's in original Bluesbreakers. I may end up reversing this statement. I'm researching. And unfortunately, I don't have an original BB to use as a template.

There is also the alnico vs ceramic debate. We should start a "definitive Bluesbreaker" thread. I'll see if I get back form the LP jam today in time to spend some time here on the forum.

So I had just decided that I resist the temptaion of a 2203 kit (for a little while anyway) and then you start this thread. So many cool amps so little time!

I'm sure that is the one from the LA Amp show(George?). If so, I played that very amp and with a boost and gutpiles Les Paul it sure had Beano tone!

I thought the BB timeline was the series l was a JTM45 circuit with Alnico speakers and the BB series ll (the beano BB) was also JTM45 but with greenbacks. I don't think I've ever heard of BB with EL34's?

BB´s (Or more correctly: Marshall Combos model # 1961 (4X10") and 1962 (2X12") ) just followed Marshall´s "upgrades". So when they went from KT66 to EL34´s they changed too.. I´ve never seen a tube rectified Marshall combo with EL34´s, but it should exist, and I´ve played at few SS recto EL34 combo´s.. A ´69 1961 4 X 10" sounded very impressive...

According to legend EC´s "Beano" amp had grey Alnico´s from a Vox. How "they" know this..?

I´d go with a head and an open back cab with Scumnico´s.. Much more versatile setup. I just sold my 2104, and now use my Park75 w. EL34´s and a cab with old G12H30´s when I need a "small" Marshall setup. Much easier to lug around, and if I need more push: A 4 X 12" cab. :D

I am really pleased with my JTM45 with a pair of Alnico Golds. It gets used regularly either by me or our keyboard player, the only down side is the weight of it in its very solid mojo cab (which is wider than a standard 4x12 and large box).

I do have a cab which is a Marshall copy the same size and weight as an AC30 which I might try. What size is this cab?

My '66 JTM 45 was a late year model and it had EL 34's, sounded great with the GZ 34 rectifier..
