Hot weather in Michigan, computer crashes

Post by VelvetGeorge » Mon Jun 30, 2014 11:07 pm

It's heating up here in Michigan. 90's today with humidity around 90%. The kind of day where there seems to be a haze everywhere you look. Bad day to being wearing dress clothes (I was in court sorting out some parenting time issues).

Whenever it gets like this in the shop I start having computer crashes. Once I add some extra fans to push air around I usually get the computer stabilized. Sometimes I have to go into the bios and raise a few voltages, but that get a little risky.
Had issues today and got behind on email. Sorry for the delay. I'll get up early tomorrow and get as much done as possible before it gets hot.

The bench runs on a Furman voltage regulator and the computer is on a UPS. It's a heat issue. Even with the UPS a storm came through last night and knocked out power long enough to shut the computer down. That's at least 20 min.
I should just work from the Ipad on days like these.

Welcome to Michigan!
My wall voltage has been all over the place. From a typically steady 121, down to 105 the other night when I checked it swapping a pair of tubes. Sucks. :?

Almost achieved Mikes favorite guitarists tone without the use of a variac!
