Question about my new 12000 series

Post by eljodon » Tue Aug 12, 2014 11:45 pm

Hi George
I received my new Metro Plexi 12,000 today after 6 long weeks!. It sounds great, but when I crank the treble pass 5 while driving the volume pass 4 to 10 the distortion gets nasty and nasal.Could that be a bad preamp tube like the V2 which if I remember correctly is for the tone stack? Thanks

Sorry to hear it. After the long wait I wish everything was perfect for you.

A tube is the most likeky culprit here. You can begin troubleshooting by juggling the preamp tubes. You might label them and see if you can isolate the issue to a specific tube in a specific position. Better yet, sub in a known good tube for each one.

Shoot me an email too please.
