Excellent job.

Gold (good) soldering skills. What size wire did you use 20g? What brand?

Thanks fellas!! 7 builds later and I think I am getting the hang of it!! :D I used the standard kit wire which I think is 18ga... All stock kit with Winged C EL34's and RI Mullard pre's.... the only snag I ran into was the preamp shielded wire which runs to V1 and the preamp pot.... you have to strip it, ground the braided wire to the back of the pot and strip it again and run wire inside the plastic to lug on the preamp pot, problem I had was heating it up too much to ground it and melting the plastic shielding which kept shorting it out!! good George provided enough shielded wire to try it a couple times!!! :D :D

Yes, that is why I like using the teflon insulation shielded cable.
The teflon won't melt when heated.

I thought the normal shielded stuff might cause problems here. I might just include the Belden 2 conductor stuff for this. It is way more forgiving.

GeorgeL guitar cable work for this?

It'll work but is also prone to melting.

Brown,black,gold,gold.
1 Ohm.
On values below 10ohm the multiplier band is not needed and is usually replaced by gold as a matter of course.
Or it could be that the 5 band system is used here and the multiplier is omitted altogether, but I don't know whether this happens or not.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

sounds killer but I have modded it a little!! I changed the 10K on the left hand side of the board to a 2.7K which in turn made me had to change the NFB from a 100K to 27K! I also changed the bright cap to a 500K... it is now a gain monster!! I needed one in my arsenal!!! very "appetite" sounding!! I posted some clips a while back but they didn't come out like I wanted... I plan on making some more on saturday after I lose some money in an 18 hole scramble!
