Just curious about what you guys like. What fretboard radius? Profile? etc.?

I like my warmoth v/m neck: wolfgang back contour, 10-16 radius, 1 11/16 nut width - 1 5/8 nut (R2), very thin nitro finish

stef is right. If you stick with the Wolfgang neck contour you will be getting the the identical profile of the neck on the original 5150 guitar. I have a Musikraft 5150 style banana headstock neck for my 5150 replica and it feels amazing. I always describe the Musikraft necks as feeling "amazing" but I really mean it.

I think I'm definitely gonna go for the Wolfgang back profile, I'm just not sure what neck radius to go with. Compound like the new wolfgang, or like the EBMM or the Peavey wolfgang.

That depends if you want to get a closer profile to the actual 5150...the EBMM profile would be the way to go if that's what you are after.

I've never had the opportunity to play an EBMM, so I don't know how those necks feel.

But that's the question you have before you...are you building as true of a replica of the 5150 as you can or are you building some other kind of guitar? If you are trying to build the most accurate 5150 that you can, then I would go for the EBMM profile because of the fact that it's profile was made by computer mapping the neck of the actual 5150.

Well, that's the thing. I've only played the Peavey neck. I've never played an EBMM or the new Fender Wolfgang neck. I guess I'm looking for people's opinions of the 3.

The EBMM Axis I have has a similar neck to the original EVH musicman. The new Fender Wolfgang does not have the same neck. Its slightly wider at the nut and the contour feels different up by the heel.

I take it then that getting the closest thing to the actual 5150 neck is not a concern for you, because it seems that the answer to the question that I put to you is that you are looking for what is most comfortable for you rather than making an accurate replica.

So, for the guys who have played both the Peavey and the Fender Wolfgang, which neck did you like better? I know the Fender Wolfgang has a compound radius, and the Peavey does not.
