It's one of the newer MXR 10 bands. I'l like to try one of the old Boss's.

Anyway... I took a shot at the solo section from Hang 'em High today....

very nice. DD is ultimate tone imo. the tight bouncy SPROING of the DD period. listen to the single line runs in WHATGTG, and the opening wammy release of the BEAT IT solo, and the entire DITS solo, and FULL BUG.

awesome clip! do more man! come on!!

really nice amp! needs the old gibson PAF to really nail it though
you can hear you are using a "clone: pickup.
Only the real gibson PAF will get that exact tone he had.
I sent you a message :toast:

This brings up a question I have had for quite a while. Up until a certain date, the Gibson pickups were ""Patent Applied For" (PAF)s. So, when the patent was approved, did anything really change in the tone? Or is it just having the little sticker? At some point there was a fire or something, right? But up until what date or time frame are PAFs and Patent 2,737,842 the exact same thing?

The magnets got heated by the fire and became blessed with a special mojo that that cannot be replicated.

I'll go splits on these with ya?

I have set of those as wel as a 61,58 and some 66's, theyall vary some sound incredible some sound dreadful.
EVH had one of the good ones thats why he hung onto it all those years.
dont buy into all this seymour rewound it BS, that was to throw the tone chasers off.
He used a stock alnico II 8.7K gibson P.A.F from 1961.

I don't wanna jinx it because nothing's set in stone yet, but if all works out, I'll have some full band VH clips with this thing before long... :vh: :dlr:
