I'd like to see the innards. Face it, the 1959 circuit is simple and it's totally possible to make a good PCB amp, Marshalls been doing it for years.

BUT, even if it is a total dog, you can yank the circuit board and replace it with a PTP turret board pretty easily.

Yeah, if it's crap I'm certainly looking into replacing the guts with a turret board eventually. The OT is probably not the best as well...

Atleast u will be able to tell us how it is,since u had an original plexi u know the that tone for reference

Yeah, I know what a Marshall is supposed to sound like, so that helps.

Guys, when it comes to Bugera, the last thing you should worry about is how they sound....

You will find problems with flexible connectors (just like PC motherboards), smd components, crapy pots, crapy pcb materials, tube sockets straight in the PCB.... I saw a couple of them MELT inside (not this model, but the 6262).

If you want a dirty cheap amp with GOOD construction and a nice mod platform for VH, try an old Peavey VTM or a Peavey Windsor... Those amps kick ass and they are CHEAP.

I'm well aware of Bugeras issues, but the new Infinium line is supposed to be better, I heard from a tech that had been inside them and construction was better than before. And I bought it from a store with excellent warranty and customer service, so I'm well covered.
It's just a fun experiment. At least the 1960 is the least likely to fail, being relatively simple. We'll see!

I see, you're in Norway... But even in Brazil we can find windsors at a reasonable price... too bad, they are good amps.

If you search youtube you'll find a comparison between the 1960 and a 1959x ... I found the 59 to be way brighter and more open sounding... The 1960 sounded nice though, closer to my 2150 (no cathode follower) but with less gain..

I don't think the Windsors was even sold here, or at least very few sold, never seen one used. VTM's are very rarely seen.

Now that Tone King comparison video is awful, he makes both amp sounds terrible!
I will not judge anything before I have it in my hands. I have plenty of nice glass to experiment with too. Will be interesting to check out the auto-bias feature.

Yeah I've seen that page, but thanks still! The Classictone transformers looks quite all right and inexpensive, a new choke and OT wouldn't set me that much back.

My ears are bleeding! Well almost.

The Bugera arrived today and I have had some time getting to know it a little.

Let's get right to it, here's a couple short clips:

I have to say it surprised me positively! Plenty gain for sure, and I'm not even using the cascaded input. Straight in the upper left input.
Now I used the PPIMV here, I couldn't risk blowing my poor EVH 2x12", definitively more punch without the master, but man so loud

All stock tubes, whatever they are. I have a bunch of various EL34's I will try with it the following days.

I'll grab the camera and produce some gut shots as well.
