Reampers

Post by white noise » Thu Dec 10, 2015 10:01 am

I am looking at Reampers and wanted to get some opinions if your using one.

The 2 that i am looking at are from Radial Engineering:

ProRMP and the Reamp JCR.

If anyone has any opinion on either of these or one that you like please comment.

Get a Fryette Power Station. Best reamp/attenuator on the market. I just got one and its amazing. Very transparent!

motrock,

sorry i think you misunderstood what i meant by "reamper", the Fryette Power Station will not work.

A reamp device is like using a DI box backwards. Going from line level, low impedance to guitar level high impedance.

Its used to run a clean DI track into a guitar amp at guitar levels. Typically 50-100mV, which will provide the correct impedance.

I have the JCR that I've messed around with a few times. Great if you can record very clean tracts first. I found it really useful for tweaking amp specs without having to constantly plug in and try to play the same thing over and over. The Radial stuff is built really well and uses the Jensen tranny/induction stuff.

I have narrowed it down to the Radial but trying to see if anyone has any experience with the two different Radial models, ProRMP and the Reamp JCR.

I think satriani uses radial. Best thing about reamping is recording. Moniter your cab while playing/recording not using any plugins on your daw which create low latency. low latency can not be heard but can be felt and affect feel when playing.
The other plus is you can re record your amp to tweak it to sound better in the mix. Thats what your thinking, right?

I know is a late reply, but I wold strongly suggest to try out Creation Labs MW1. Best re amp/DI on the market! You can adjust the impedance on both input for different pickups and output for different amps to get the best tone. It's very transparent and you can even listen to how it's going to sound while playing! It has a great preamp for recording your DI guitar. You can also use any low impedance rack mount eq's compressor, etc and run it through your amp and also use your fx pedals while mixing. I used a Radial DI and re amp and the MW1 sounded so much better. You can actually run up to 6 amps while re amping your DI guitar track!
