So Im going to build a 5150 Kramer. Any suggestions on purchasing parts? Musikraft? I also see Ed Roman Guitars sells a complete kit.
Lots of different ideas on the wood. Basswood, Poplar, Alder. What is the best choice? Pickup? I have used a Custom Custom in the past in my old Kramer circa 985 model and loved the sounds..

What is a great testimony to KNE is this / the fact that they offer POPLAR as a body choice
Basswood is a good tone wood
Poplar is actually a great tone wood
BUT, in mass production there would be many chips / gouges etc ... not an easy wood to work with
this is why you don't see many poplar guitars / Basswood better to work with cheaply
But KNE's Poplar body at 109.00 / that is a killer deal
So I ordered a poplar SD / strat style one humbucker / last week from Mitch

Hi all, I´m new here. I built my version of 5150 using a new Kramer Pacer Classic and it works well for me.
